You do not need to add any scopes here so click Save and Continue to move to the Optional info page. You do not need to add anything to the Optional info page so click Save and Continue which will take you to the Summary page. The wizard will ask you to choose a project to manage your application. Select a project and click continue. In a web browser on your computer, go to Google Calendar and sign in with your Google Workspace account.
You can share the outlook calendar in Google but it is one way. That will show your events but you will not be able you add events using the Google calendar. To check if you have access to the new feature yet, just open the Google Home app.
How to Manage Multiple Calendars with Google Home
You can use any of the calendar entity attributes, but here we will set the attribute to message. In order to link the automation to a specific calendar event, we can use conditions. Instead of using the entity state for automations, a calendar trigger is significantly more adaptable, has fewer restrictions, and is suggested for automations. On the connect a device page, enter the code given by Home Assistant. Note that there is only a short time to do this before the code changes. Next choose the integrations tab at the top and click the add integration button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

I won’t be going over those in this guide, but I will add links to the bottom of this post over the next couple weeks with some automations I plan on adding. I already have a script setup called script.office_writing which triggers my Spotify playlist and sets the desired lighting. So let’s write an automation to trigger these events from the calendar. A reminder doesn’t have to be tied to an actual event. It is not recommended to new users to use these settings as they are not compatible with other Home Assistant features, but this documentation is available for existing users. The calendar entity has additional attributes related to a single next upcoming event. Continue through the steps of selecting the account you used when creating the credentials in the Google Developer Console. Home Assistant will wait for a short time while you complete the authorization steps, checking in the background for the authorization to be completed. Click Credentials in the menu on the left hand side of the screen, then click Create credentials , then select OAuth client ID.
Syncing your Google Calendar with others, like Apple Calendar or Outlook, is a whole other topic. Your new calendar will now be active, and you’ll find it in the “My calendars” category. If you want to change the assigned color, hover your cursor over the calendar name, click on the three-dot Options menu, and choose a color.
Go ahead and enter the OAuth details and then click create. This makes it really easy to set up Google Calendar with Home Assistant once you have your OAuth token from the previous section. You will need to write down or copy and paste your Client ID and Client Secret into a text editor for later use. Choose TVs and Limited Input devices for the Application type. Enter a name such as Home Assistant OAuth. This will take you to the final summary screen.
Next, you need to link your Google account. If you have multiple accounts, your best would be to link your primary account that contains your master calendar. Open your website editor, then paste this code where you want the event button to display. In the "Integrate calendar" section, copy the iframe code displayed. I'm investigating using MS flow to synchronize the two calendars. If you already have a Google Account, sign in.
Be aware that most of the tweaks listed here are only available via the web interface; any that you can do via the mobile app will be noted. Keep in mind that events created by Google Assistant will be scheduled for the default length you’ve already set in your Google Calendar. If this is 30-minutes, then all events you add will be in 30-minute blocks unless you specify otherwise.
My biggest issue with HA has been the lack of documentation and the lack of control of the documents. As an open source software system it is understandable, but adding revisions and revision dates on all releases should be a minimum. Schedule any trigger in IFTTT along with your favorite automations using webhooks.
